Nelly and St. Lunatics Reunite! A Big Halftime Show in St. Louis
St. Louis, MO Nelly is reuniting with the St. Lunatics for their first major performance together in years—but one key member won't be there.
Nelly will take the halftime stage at the St. Louis Battlehawks home opener on March 28 at The Dome at America's Center alongside fellow St. Lunatics members Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, City Spud, and Slo Down.
Missing from the lineup is founding member Ali Jones, who previously filed a $50 million lawsuit accusing Nelly of withholding royalties and songwriting credit tied to the group's early music. A federal judge later dismissed the case and sanctioned Ali's legal team, calling the claims "frivolous."
The rest of the group distanced themselves from the lawsuit, and Ali's absence from the reunion performance appears to stem from that legal dispute.
Still, the moment marks a big return for St. Louis hip-hop. The hometown legends helped put the city on the rap map in the late '90s and are now bringing that legacy back to their home crowd.
The halftime show is part of the UFL's "Spirit of St. Louis" kickoff weekend, and it comes as Nelly works toward a full St. Lunatics reunion album—reportedly executive produced by Metro Boomin and expected to drop in 2026.
While fans won't see the complete original
lineup on March 28, the show promises to be a nostalgic celebration of St.
Louis music history. And with new album on the horizon, there's hope that all
differences may eventually be settled on stage once again.
