The case that shocked the world just took another unexpected turn.

One of the men tied to the murder of XXXTENTACION is now free, while the others will spend life behind bars.

Robert Allen, the fourth suspect in the 2018 killing, was released from prison in late 2023. His freedom has sparked debate, confusion, and strong reactions from fans who still remember the tragic day.

At first, Allen was facing the same fate as the others. He was charged with first-degree murder, which in Florida means life in prison with no way out.

But then everything changed.
In August 2022, Allen made a move that would shift the entire case.

He agreed to plead guilty to lesser charges, including second-degree murder and robbery with a firearm.

In return, he did something the others did not. He cooperated. Allen testified against his co-defendants, Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome.

His words helped prosecutors explain exactly what happened the day XXXTentacion was killed outside Riva Motorsports.

His testimony became a key piece of the case. And it changed his future.
When sentencing came, the difference was massive.

Allen received just 7 years in prison. Because he had already spent nearly 5 years behind bars since his 2018 arrest, he had little time left to serve.

On October 26, 2023, he officially walked free.
But freedom comes with conditions.

Allen must now serve 20 years of probation, meaning his life will still be closely watched for decades.

Meanwhile, the other three men faced much harsher endings. Boatwright, identified as the shooter, received two life sentences plus 30 years.

Newsome and Williams were also sentenced to life in prison. The gap in punishment has left many asking the same question. Was it fair?

During sentencing, Michael Usan admitted the crime was horrific. But he also said Allen’s decision to tell the truth played a big role in the lighter sentence.

In court, Allen showed remorse. He said he wished he could go back and change what happened that day.

But for many fans, that does not change the outcome. One man is free. Three are locked away forever. And the loss of XXXTentacion still hangs heavy over it all.
